Now that would be chaos.

They don't have time. Deadlines are coming up for getting names on ballots. Unless they already have someone lined up and the votes to select him or her, they will miss be able to put someone else on the ballot in some states. And the longer it takes, the more states that are missed. A write-in would be a very, very long shot.

The GOP leadership needs to declare the GOP voting base as mentally incompetent to choose a presidential candidate.

It's ironic. They try to block minorities from voting, with the many racists among them claiming "clearly some people shouldn't be allowed to vote".

Then they vote in Trump as their candidate.

Considering the coming landslide loss the Republicans are facing this fall as Americans latch onto the temperment and character disorders of this deeply disturbing, race baiting choice - including a strain of thin skinned narcissism never before seen on the public stage - the irony is just staggering.
