I'm tired of people thinking objections about Trump are about some other candidate. Cruz was great but I'm not in a Cruz personality cult like the Trumpkin. There were a bunch of candidates that I'd have been joyful to vote for and who would have won. Hillary isn't even liked by Democrats. She had trouble overcoming a 80(?) yo socialist. Every other Republican candidate could have beat her. Heck, if Trump acted like a sane person, he might be able to beat her. But he can't or won't. The voters in Republican primaries don't have a history of selecting Republicans who win and they screwed up again. One of the problems is Republicans let Dems vote in their primaries in many states and they vote for the most liberal Republican and the Republican Dems can beat easiest. Remember Trump did best in those open primaries. IMO open primaries are designed to eliminate conservative candidates. It's not really the party of Reagan. He was a fluke.
