It is not impossible. Voter turnout in Texas is usually one of the lowest in the country across most demographics except for older whites. But recently, our Teahadis have started to pull a California. Historically, Texas hispanics have been treated with some degree of respect. Not exactly catered to, but at least taken into consideration. Remember when Perry was actually supportive of Dreamers? Well, with the rise of Trump, that has gone out the window. Even those hispanics in the Valley who have been in Texas forever are unhappy with Republicans, and they have historically been pretty conservative when they voted. Which wasn't often.

Now, who knows? It is still 3 months until the election, plenty of time for the Teahadis to do something really stupid. The voter suppression efforts have raised hackles. Whether or not it will be enough for the hispanics and blacks to join forces and actually vote in large numbers is an open question, In the past they never did and, by default if not actively, relied on Anglos to take care of their interests. But the Teahadis have made it clear that they don't care about their interests or anyone else's who isn't a member of their tribe.

So there is a chance. It would involve getting those who aren't Teahadis to vote. That includes younger whites, especially the college educated in the major metropolitan areas. That could swing the whole state abruptly blue like what happened in California.

It will happen sooner or later. But it could have happened any time during the past 2 or more decades. It all depends on turnout.
