Just seize their assets and make sure the donations are made

But that is not a reality yet in this country.

I in no way can relate to being a billionaire , however The thought of wealth confiscation is something I find abhorrent. Where would it end? Once started such confiscation would chase money out of this country and they would have to pursue more and more from the less wealthy. I believe the end game would a dreary, poverty stricken Venezuelan type country.

What about it.?They should be forced to donate their money to charities and social service programs till their net worth comes below a billion.
T

Because that worked so well in other countries that did something like that.

And hey - a billion? Why set the bar so high?
Okay, okay it'll come down eventually to keep the machine chugging.

Look - You don't force.

You provide incentives.

You make it attractive.

Forcing is rape.

I never said they should be forced to leave - though undoubtedly most will look to leave. Just seize their assets and make sure the donations are made. Then they can go where they please. But that is not a reality yet in this country.
