<< In your case, "nicer" might not mean much. <g> >>

So I need to drop the "r" and make it "nice" to ANCR followers. Just like ANCR management I don't want to make promises I can't keep.

<< The point that I missed, and maybe you did too, is that we were almost exclusively
discussing potential ANCOR customers. Brocade, or anyone else could just read the thread,
and call the customers that Ancor was in the process of selling to, and attempt to get that
business >>

The point I'm making is that it's pretty sad if ANCR has to hide potential customers from Brocade. If ANCR's solution is better than Brocade's then ANCR should welcome comparisons not shun them. ANCR hiding potential customers from Brocade sounds to me like ANCR is scared that Brocade has a better solution and they don't want people to find out. Once again if there was enough switch business for everybody Brocade could do it's $100 million in sales and leave $25 or $50 million for ANCR. If ANCR and Brocade are fighting like cats and dogs for leftover dinner scrapps then the market isn't big enough and that's a bad sign.

I think it's a ridiculous notion that ANCR needs to keep mum about some of the solutions they provide their customers. The claim by some on this thread was that ANCR needed to respect the customers wishes and keep quiet because the customers wanted to have FC as a secret weapon to gain a foothold. Poppycock! If FC is such a great solution the word will spread quickly and everyone will know about it. What market do you want to serve that you have to keep quiet about?

Now do you understand what I'm getting at? As soon as you consider all the FC business as a zero sum game and every Brocade win as an ANCR loss than you are resigning yourself to the notion that there isn't enough FC business out there.

Happy New Year Everyone!!!!
