I'll bet a lot of Anniversary Update problems are hardware related and it works better for some than others.

That said, releasing this big update on the anniversary of Windows 10 seems silly to me, it would have been better to work out more of the bugs, than releasing the update prematurely just because it was the anniversary...

I upgraded to W10 Anniversary Edition this morning. Four desktops and one Samsung netbook. First I downloaded the media to a flash drive in case something went wrong.

thewindowsclub.com

Then I forced the download on each machine by going to - Settings - Update - Learn More

tenforums.com

Used Custom Install to turn all the security stuff off.

Went through all the settings after install to turn all the security stuff off again.

I can report that everything is stable. No driver issues. No HDD issues etc.

Systems are 3 - 9 years old with various brand MB, GPU and SSD's.

Took about an hour per machine.

If it weren't for a few things I use Windows for, I'd migrate to Chrome Books/Boxes.
