Fernando, I was short Avant for the first part of its drop, but covered to go after other opportunities. It is probably still a good short. I have also played Corel a bit from the long side lately, no position now. Seems like there should be value there, but I am not so sure now given my bearish expectations for the market as a whole.

Fernando, I would be very careful of Corel as a long. I was short from 12 and covered at 7 (I needed the funds for other reasons at the time). Michael Cowpland is a megolomaniac. He is not responsible and recently sold 20M of stock in advance of a negative earnings announcement. There is no reason to believe they are turning around their losses. They are trying to compete with MSFT and Lotus in the office suite business. Not a bet I would make. If anything they are still a short, although I gather most U.S. brokers won't let you short cheap stocks like this one.
Best of luck
Ron
