Zeev: When I started this thread in the middle of the night last night, I had no idea whether anyone would bother to post here. I got home from work today to find 69 posts, and the Subject of the Thread reinstated by SI.

The fact that this thread received so much interest is a testiment to the respect you have earned in these forums. You know I only brought up the Maxam story just to keep your Hed from getting too large. Everyone is entitled to one bad call:-)

At any rate, welcome back, and I congratulate SI for their good judgement in reinstating you.

Just learned of the banishment of a truly fine thinker and poster. While I am sure that our web mistress has a difficult job, and no doubt struggles with difficult decisions with regard to what is acceptable behaviour, perhaps a reconsideration is in order. My appreciation of the big "Z's" input is at a high level, as is that of many other S I participants.
