I'm not intending to speak to you or anyone like a kid.

BUT -- I'll tell you what I tell my kids, the ones that are in a position to buy stocks.

Have a roth IRA

Buy some in your Roth IRA... 1500, 5000, 10000 shares (doesnt have to be a lot)

FOGETABOUTIT.... for 3 to 10 years.

I own some stock that has not traded these month, and it does not bother me at all. I particularly look at OTC stocks that have a high price per share. I have found quite some gems going through here list of high prices shares and those are much less likely to be frauds. Low priced shares can be just as interesting, but I have to wade through dozens and possibly hundreds of them before I find an interesting one. With high priced stock, my find rate seems to be much better.

FWIW, we are late in the bull market, so I don't think now is the time to pig on these stocks and make them a large allocation in the portfolio.
