Sure, that has been true since the 1990s. In the 1970s and early 1980s, not so much. Roy Cohn was Trump's mentor. There were few with better mob connections than he. And Trump took advantage of those connections when he was building casinos in the early to mid 1980s. I suppose it is possible that he didn't know of the mob ties of the many shady people he had business dealings with during that time period, but...
