Henry & All, Best wishes in the New Year. This was a great year in everything but stock price and I think we turned the corner today.

I'm going to look for the weather you missed Henry and hope that the stock continues to catch up with the company in the next week or 2. Actually I'd be happy with half of what its worth.

Best of luck to everyone out there (yes everyone).

btw Bob, (way off topic) got my instr. at Riddle a few years back. Great experience.

Dan Ogens

Thanks again to everyone!

Robert, We actually drove into the weather. We had our first game scheduled for 3:30 on Saturday. We came early to get ready and watch some of the 2:00 game which featured the other two teams in our bracket. The rain really began to come down as we arrived, and the games were called at about 2:10. Initially the 2:00 and 3:30 games were cancelled and our 8:00 PM game was moved to Boggs Fields. The field were wet, but very playable. We got off to an excellent start, beating Greensboro (NC Runner-Up) by a perfect score of 3-0 (the scoring allowed gave 5 points for a win, up to 3 points for goals scored, and 1 point for a shut-out, so we received the maximum score of 9). We were in great shape because the other two teams played to a 0-0 tie, so after one game we lead 9-3-3-0 over the other teams in our bracket. In fact we were the only team to score 9 points in the entire Orange (highest) division.

However, our envious position did not last long. Games were again delayed on Sunday and shortened to 20 min halves, which was also to our advantage since we had a big lead and points were determined in part by goals scored. We played the Region I Champion Valley Stream Blast from Long Island. I knew that they were very beatable and we looked strong for the first 5 minutes. However Valley Stream knew that they had to beat us to control their own destiny and they began to turn the tide by playing very aggressively and physically. Although we were quite physical in Raleigh (especially against a big physical NJ team), we started to back off 50/50 balls. We were missing 5 players (all could be quite physical) and we had two younger guests (neither had really played at this level before). Valley Stream finally scored on a garbage play in front of the net, and then our defense broke down to allow two more goals and we lost 3-0 (Valley Stream became the only other team to get a maximum score of 9).
We were down but not out.

Team Boca was 1 point in front of us (they beat Greensboro 2-1), so we had to win our third game. A win would have capture 2nd in our bracket and moved us into the quarter final games. We dominated the game, controlling the midfield, but we had a very hard time getting off a decent shot. At halftime it was still 0-0 and things were starting to get a bit iffy. We then found out that Valley Stream had played Greensboro to a 0-0 tie, so a win by us would actually capture 1st place. However, we again couln't get a score and even though we had the ball most of the time. Team Boca had the best opportunity which caused Nicole to make a diving save, deflecting the ball off the far post to preserve the shut-out. Thus we ended 1-1-1, including 2 shutouts.

Our consolation game was cancelled when it began to rain again on Monday, although the fields at Pine Island actually were in quite good shape. Then the quarter finals were cancelled, which upset all of the second place teams. Thus, a goal against Boca would have advanced us to the semi finals. Instead, we went home after playing 1 full and 2 shortened games. No one was very happy.

Valley Stream then lost to Weston 1-4 and Colorado beat Ohio Premier 1-0. Colorado then beat Weston 1-0 in the Championship game.
