In case you missed it, American middle distance runner, Matt Centrowitz (sp?) won the 1500 in Rio, the first American to win the event in the Olympics since 1908.

Glad that something that hasn't happened since 1908 has once again.

I finally saw Cafe Society, and enjoyed it. It reminded me of Crimes and Misdemeanors -- the unrequited love, the gangster brother, the moral dilemma over the brother's actions, etc.

The Night Of is something else. When I watched the pilot I decided that i wouldn't follow it because I thought it was all too obvious -- as soon as Naz met that girl, I correctly anticipated how the night was going to end up, but i never anticipated that Naz could do so many stupid things (about 100 of them) that would get him in trouble. He couldn't have been dumber. And then the John Turturro character was such a cliche -- the cynical, rumpled precinct house lawyer who harbors a secret heart of gold -- but then one episode at a time, I kept watching. The twist and turns have been unpredictable regarding Naz's development. I'm relieved that we will find out tonight who done it.
