He's practicing for when he has to host state dinners in the WH....

President Obama is not the first to welcome Muslims into the White House for Ramadan celebrations. In fact, it has been an annual tradition since 1996, when then-First Lady Hillary Clinton hosted a dinner during Eid al-Fitr, the three-day festival marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

Hillary Clinton addressed her guests at the 1996 celebration, saying it was an “historic and overdue occasion.” She continued:

It is only fitting. Just as children and families of other faiths have come here to celebrate some of their holy days, so you too are all here to mark this important Islamic tradition.

Her daughter, Chelsea had taken a course on Islamic history a year previous. Mrs. Clinton said she owes much of what she knows about Islam to Chelsea.

President Clinton carried the torch through the rest of his term, hosting an Eid every year thereafter.
