This is what Trump (as President) should do about the immigration problem, imo. Is this too lenient? 1. Give all people illegally in the United States 3 months to turn themselves in. 2. All such will be finger-printed. 3. If they have any children who were naturally born as citizens, then they will be given a path to citizenship which will include a $10,000.00 fine--payable by them or by a sponsor--and 3 years of free labour in the county they reside--8 hours per week. 4. If he or she has no children, then they will may be given a path to citizenship--or they may not. 4. After this 3 month interval, give a $5000.00 reward to anyone giving information leading to the outing of an illegal alien. Those who have not turned themselves in have sorted themselves into the undesirables who will be given no path anywhere except one that goes South. 5. After this 3 month interval, levy a fine of $100,000 to anyone knowingly employing an illegal alien. 6. All those illegals on a 3-year path to citizenship will be ON PROBATION. Any infraction of criminal law will almost certainly end their amnesty. 7. Until they have earned their citizenship they will be ineligible for any county, state, or federal assistance. Private charities may voluntarily assist at their own discretion. 8. Employment will be taxed at a 40% level while they remain non-citizens.
