All comments welcome.

I trying to figure DEC out these days and I see mixed signals.

Services..................strong
PC hardware...............strong
Alpha hardware............????
Networking hardware.......fire sale to Cabletron

The relational database companies, Oracle and Sybase, have melted down and my experience tells me that new UNIX workstation sales correlate highly to new database software sales.

Is DEC facing a dramatic slowdown in their high margin Alpha workstation sales?

Can the margins be made up in services and PC hardware?

Anyone else notice the only large block in a couple weeks looked like a sell? That was two days ago at the resistence level @ 40 that a 100k block sent it downhill till the next days re-announcement that DEC is a good takeover target. Doesn't give one very positive vibes. I'm looking for any more large block selling during strength to see the real short term direction. Really hasn't been any recent big volume showing confident buying or fearful short covering, IMO.
