I'm just curious as to why Dmitry makes such a big deal of the recommendations members receive since he's shown repeatedly that he believes they have no value. Here is a post from the New Feature (non)Discussion board that received far more than the average number of recommendations. My guess is the poster would gladly forfeit any "star" he receives because of the recommendations in return for action to fix the defective drop down menu he describes.

It has been about three years or a thousand days since the Poll feature was implemented, and there has been an underwhelming 448 polls to date. For all the message threads on this site, that's a single measly poll every two to three days. Even more pathetic is the fact that two or three members accounted for roughly half the polls. So, it appears Dmitry could have saved himself "considerable effort" if he had only heeded the one poll that really mattered.

I sometimes ponder what he could have accomplished with that effort when I trigger the drop down menu while trying to zip across an SI web page or when my gaze accidentally falls upon a useless date/time stamp.
