[GTE, too]

Steve --

Here's the latest from GTE's website:

gte.com

Click on "ADSL" for the latest additions. At least it's nice to know they're still planning to add services. Some times it gets so quiet it feels as though they've gone back to smoke signals.

And it appears the Japanese are getting serious, too. I knew there was a problem with ADSL next to ISDN, so it'll be interesting to see how it's resolved.

Hope you're having a good New Year's Day. It's beautiful here in Southern California. The kids have scattered to the winds and it's so quiet I hardly know what to do. Now, if I hadn't had so much to drink last night, I might worry about it. As it is. . . :)

Cheers!

Pat

[Off main topic] Cutting/pasting and line lengths

A general suggestion (not just for Steve) for copying text from other
web pages to paste to SI's submission form:

If the copied articles' lines are longer than SI's, causing formatting
like this on SI:

xxxxxx xxxxxx xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxx
xxxx xxxxx
xxxxx xxxxxxx x xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxx xx xxxxxxxx xx
xxxxxxx xxxx
xxx xxx xxxxxx xxxxxxxx

please try the following:

Narrow your browser window before copying the text from the other page.

This will result in there being fewer characters between line-break
characters when you paste to SI, so the pasted lines will be less
likely to exceed SI's text width, and we won't end up with that
really ragged formatting we sometimes get.

Thanks.

Daniel
