Welcome back Zeev. I considered it an honor that you chose to send me your "missive".

Zeev: After reading your post and that of the "psychic detective and remote reader" who tried to embarrass you by publicly posting one of your private e-mail messages, I have come to the judgment that the webmistress booted the wrong person.

Personally I see nothing wrong with sending personal e-mail to anyone who posts their address here. Why else would anyone give their address, if they didn't welcome e-mail from SI posters? And having just re-read SI's "terms of use," they say nothing at all against sending unsolicited email, or even unWANTED e-mail.

I certainly DO think it is wrong to post a private e-mail message on a public thread, unless the author gives permission. SI should consider forbiding such abuses.

I will be sending a message to the webmistress thanking her for reinstating you, and suggesting that SI reconsider and clarify its policies in this area.

Happy New Year and good luck to all.

Zeev,
thanks very much for posting this, many of us were wondering what
in the world could have happened. You seem to be one of the rock
solid SI people in at least 3 of the categories for Mohan's awards--
sense of the overall market, macro issues, and stockpicking
(and maybe tech guru as well, I don't know firsthand), and it would
have been a bummer if you were shut out. Will be interested in
what, if anything, happens to this venture. I do think it's reasonable
to reveal e-mails of the sort you sent if the recipient chooses
to, although it's sort of against what many view as netiquette.
And I can understand your not wanting it on threads, precisely
because it might be construed as inappropriate use of SI for
advertising/soliciting; looks like you handled this right.

Happy New Year... glad you're back!

I keep missing my SPY short by eigths and quarters!!! Doesn't
Wall Street love me anymore -g-?

Cheers to all,

HB

Zeev,

Congratulations and welcome back. Your story is a testimony that
truth and justice can indeed prevail.

As for your statement,

"As I have done in many
other occasions (CTYS @ 7, NAMX @ 1, EXSO @2, DWSC @7, AKSEF @ 4
and in a continuum since, EUTO @ $.25 to $.5, and a number of others),...."

take a look at the PTSC thread. For those who get in at the right
time it may turn out to be an amazing play.

Take Care,
Joe

Zeev

Sorry to hear about all the problems with SI. I don't think what you did was inappropriate, being a recipient of one of your emails. If I was in a better position, I might have jumped aboard, but I'm just a small investor. I'm hoping 98 will be a better year. Been looking at Boston Market (BOST) and I think it can go from 7 to 15 very quick with the number of shorts that would have to cover. AMAT is very attractive too. I'm keeping my eye on GATE cause I have a lot of money I need to make up on what I loss in ZYCAD. I couldn't take watching other stock go by while Zycad continued to drop. Yahoo has a very good thread going now. Has anyone else checked it out. Another hopeful technology stock I'm following is ALMI. They should post Financials on Monday. Street estimate is -.06. Anything better than -.03 could see this stock double up quickily. JMAR is another emerging company that I have high hopes for in 98. I think Mr. Peterson might have some for I saw him post on their thread. They make an xray lithography machine and a lite knife, plus other products. As chips continue to get smaller some type of lithography will need to be used.

May God bless all those I had dealings with on this thread and may 98 be a very good year for us all.
