I left the names off to preserve anonymity - which I guess doesn't REALLY make sense for those who posted their answer on the board. But I'd rather err on the side of caution. If you want your name listed against your forecast, let me know.

Unless something dramatic happens tomorrow, the 4.125 forecast will win. Seems we all were a little optimistic for December. I was in November, and lost quite a bit. Sometimes, it's easy to have the right forecast but be off in your timing. This board tends to support a tone of anticipation and optimism, because we have something to anticipate: superior foresight and technical quality bringing humongous success in a new market and riches raining on FTEL/FNET.

Here's my forecast for 2 February: The ground hog will climb out of his hole and along with his shadow see FTEL closing at $8.

Here's my reasoning: I don't expect to see an announcement of a big partner, which would drive the price much higher. Could happen, but less than 50 percent chance.

I do expect FTEL to announce some earnings that will be more than just positive. They'll be encouraging with accelerating projections. Potential customers have had more than enough time for evaluations to lead to sales. That's what will cause the price to double.

No sales would mean that these evaluaters have found something better. If FTEL announces no sales by the end of January, it won't be a disaster but it will be bad enough to drive the price down some more (No sales by the end of February, and it will get dismal)

So, although my forecast is $8, my confidence is shaky: Varying from a wildly exhuberant scene that would bring FTEL stock price past $20 to a grim Ghost of Christmas Future scene that drives it back down to the $2 or less range.

If any of you want to provide a guess for 2 Feb, get it into me by the end of 10 Feb 98. Would it violate ethics or trade rules of some sort if I offered a more substantial prize than a token $1 bill or an autographed photo of my dog? I have a bottle of whisky that was given to me in Korea I'd be willing to send to the winner. Anyone who gets the price on 2 Feb right deserves a hero's reward.

Happy New Year! I gotta go play with my kids. Take care. Bob.
