brian, all: as this post will make clear, I am a cell phone novice and an e-mail amateur--bear with me. First, I will be looking to make my very first (!) cell phone purchase in the next month or so. Live in Northern California and would like to hear from those with experience in the Contra Costa area. Which carriers and cell phone models would you all recommend? Should I wait for dual mode in February, i.e., how's the coverage in this neck of the woods? At this point, the only thing I'm sure of is CDMA and have a strong preferece for a pure Q phone with voice mail if possible. Second, just saw a Qualcomm ad in PC World magazine for Eudora Pro Comm Center 4.0 for $60 which offers to "bring all your communications together right on your computer" (e-mail, voice mail, fax). Anybody have any experience with this puppy? Plus, I don't understand how the e-mail would "work"--my ISP is AOL which of course has its own e-mail. So, if I wanted to send an e-mail message to the qpooch, for example, would I fire up Eudora Pro, then go on line with AOL and launch? And why would that be better than just using AOL? Apologies for not knowing my a*s from a hot rock and thanks in advance. P.S. I previously questioned whether Eudora made real sense for the Q but with this Pure Voice stuff, maybe I missed the big picture: seems to me that the Q is intent on giving the phones so damn many features that they will vie with laptops for the traveler, at least with regard to communications functions. Everyone is all hot and bothered about the PC merging with the TV but could it be that a Q cell phone will become the first mass information appliance? Hey, it's a New Year and I reserve full fantasy rights! Regards, Mike Doyle
