Expanding this a bit further, helps explain that Apple is a hardware company and they put their software on machines that are received very well by the public. Microsoft on the other hand, hasn't been successful building any machines except for Xbox, because it is a software company, but they have dominated the OS market. The two companies have different personalities and it goes back to Jobs and Gates. All this said, Microsoft needs to think about putting their software on phones rather than building them. * * *
