Coumadin...is the standard med [for anticoagulation] at Kaiser.
Kaiser (and other third-party payers) like coumadin it because it's generic (i.e. cheap). However, the new Factor-Xa inhibitors such as Elqiuis have the large majority of new-patient starts.
