The problem with Coumadin is it is so difficult to titrate the dose to get the blood thickness you want.
Right.
Is this not such a big issue with the new drugs?
Correct. The new Factor-Xa inhibitors have a much wider "therapeutic window" in which they inhibit clotting without causing bleeds.

One of the great days of my life was when I no longer had to take the crap.

No, the new drugs, Xarelto and Eliquis don't require dose adjustment. The issue is reversal. You can easily reverse coumadin; it's a real PIA to reverse xarelto and eliquis. I have lost many people to hemorrhagic strokes that I could not reverse because they were on those drugs, but that's probably revealing too much information about my outside of SI life.
