Seriously? How does this keep on happening?
No, really. How does this keep on happening?

The two candidates will not be on the stage at the same time, but will instead go back to back.
Why would Trump ever agree to this? The side by side comparison is the same as "a picture worth a thousand words."

It’s worth noting that Lauer is listed as a “notable past member” on the Clinton Global Initiative’s website
This is just outrageous.

Was this presented as a fait accompli? We're holding the 'debate' in this forum with Matt Lauer and you can chose to attend or not.

It will be a one-hour forum where Clinton and Trump will answer questions about national security, military affairs and veterans issues in front of an audience mainly made up of members of the military. The two candidates will not be on the stage at the same time, but will instead go back to back.

Oh it's a "forum" now. Because you can't call that format a "debate."

Yes, indeed, here we see a list of other "notables(?)" who have had firm connections with the Clinton Foundation. And yet, several of them have denied such a connection.

mediaite.com

More than likely they said that AFTER they had received any financial "largesse" from the "Foundation" !!!

>>Are Republican Party figures really this dense and irresponsible?

The format gives them a chance to look good. Farage and Cameron did this during Brexit campaign. Take a look: youtube.com

Who do you suppose will look better?

>>along with the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America — will host the the Commander-in-Chief Forum in New York City.

"Notable member" Matt Lauer is the moderator? Why not cut through the chase and get an even more "Notable Member" to moderate, like John Kerry? Both candidates - and the public, too - could simply take a night off.

It's a Comcast marketing ploy. They've been promoting it for days.
