Darlene -
It was a hard 1997 for CYI investors and perhaps most small-caps during the last quarter. December was painful to watch. 1998 promises to be a questionable year with the Asian "Flu" menace perhaps being a drag on many corporations. Luckly, CYI is not selling into that market and will avoid that problem. Just have a good feeling that CYI will begin to get investor notice and when it can demonstrate increasing profitability over a few consecutive quarters (2nd and 3rd ??) then some institutions should also give it some attention. A few more US city/county/state law enforcement contracts for the PC Mobile should be forthcoming in the first half year (imo), then perhaps another acquisition could follow, and, if that all comes to fruitation, we will all be breathing a little easier as the year progresses. The company must also do more to gain publicity (and I have faith it will) to get more notice. You do not get noticed in the dark, we need more light on CYI.
We must remain patient. This at present is far from a momentum stock and we must demonstrate fortitude and confidence that CYI will rise as the year progresses. Think most of us have done due diligence and realize the high risks and potential reward. We will, I feel, see substantial progress - especially later in the year - and shall be well rewarded in 1999 with long term capital gains with low capital gains taxes if one were to "cash" at that time. However, we need to remain vigilant. In this investment world, anything can happen and happen fast.

Good fortune to you in 1998 and beyond....

Jim

Hello Darleen ; Happy New Year to you and everyone who's reading this message !

One of my focuses (with regard to CYI) will be the cost structure of CYI. As sales are increasing to historical levels, CYI has to lower their cost structure dramatically in order to become profitable.

(we'll have to see in the coming days into what extent the omnidata acquisition will slow down / delay earingsprojection - if there is going to be a pressrelease with the financial details of the omnidata acquisition)

SGA expenses have come down ; Let's see what CYI can do for cost of sales (ie: see how production efficiencies will turn out)
