Happy New Year to all, filled with health and prosperity! Roger, I really like your short list and agree with your bearish sentiment on the market. Indeed, in the last weeks we have seen more and more analysts coming out with cautionary remarks. The Asian situation may be finally starting to sink in. I believe that by the end of January there will be a broad based decline in the market which will continue for quite a long time, creating the first bear climate for many investors. There are many companies that can be shorted out there (especially purveyors of luxury or expensive items- $200. running shoes do not sell as well in uncertain times as Nike and Reebok have just found out) but the ones you listed should bring in a higher than average return. Am presently short some of them and looking to add others among which Manu, Psft, Sebl which along with Vias have run up to their highs lately. Again all the best for 1998.
