Our introduction to Mendocino Co. was the Valentine's Day storm of '86. We got at least 25 inches in 3 days, and no telling how much we lost to an overflowing 5" gauge at night. My wettest year was the 97-98 El Nino, 120 inches. Even during the drought, I got 7 inches overnight a few years ago, and there was some flash-flood damage in town.

The worst flooding for the state happens when we get a (warm) pineapple express raining on the Sierra snow pack. That, of course, requires snow, something which we haven't seen much of lately.
