My grandfather's father lived to be 80. His son, my grandfather, died at age 70 with his son, my father, passing at 61 years old only.

Drawing a mental graph through those marks you can imagine, that I felt good celebrating my 62 years birthday :)

I have long believed the presidency of Bill Clinton kept my mom alive for years. We ate dinner at the table next to his mom at Rocky's from time to time. Mom was pleasant but she HATED Bill Clinton himself (would never have told him to his face, though). By the time the Lewinsky incident hit, she had given up chemo and decided to let nature take its course. But she did love election year politics. She finally died on 12/31/2000, chain smoking until the last day.

IN 1968, our family had one small B&W TV, maybe about a 25". As it happened, the TV crapped out just before the Democrat's convention. My dad took it to Mr. Hill's to have it fixed, but here comes the opening day and still no TV. My mom told dad to go get her a TV and don't come back without one. Our TV wasn't fixed yet so Mr. Hill loaned him one for her to watch the convention on.

Politics, for some, is a healthy subject. I'm sure of it.
