I think you'll find that a lot of young people have become disenchanted with home ownership after having lived through the period after 2007.

And that makes sense. Since the depression it's been pretty accepted that buying a home was a good investment because they almost always "gained" value over time.

Buying a home was sort of a right of passage.

That's changed now and it's a Good thing.
