Why would that matter to a partisan hack (from either side)? The sheeple get the intended misdirection, and that's all that matters in politics. That's exactly right. It's no different than if the following insane, but very plausible conversation were to occur: Hildebeest: Bill, you son-of-a-bit¢h! There are new photos of you and a young cabaret singer last week in her hotel room! Someone covertly took pictures of you and her, both naked in her bed, with ten toes up and ten toes down! Explain yourself! Slick Willie: Now, Hill, calm down. You know I love you. Look, these pictures were just taken and released by Republican Party operatives. You know that they've been out to get us since the 70s. Hildebeest: Yeah, I remember, but what are we gonna do about this? Slick Willie: Well, once the press finds out that Republican operatives are responsible, that will become the main news story, and the pictures will be immediately forgotten, so don't worry about it. The Republicans are gonna suffer mightily for these pictures of me and Summer Vine! Hildebeest: Summer Vine?!?!?! Slick Willie: Er, I mean she was never as good as you in your prime, Hill, but don't worry, those Republicans are gonna pay for this!
