Hi Dale: Tax loss selling date in Canada is well published as being value (settlement) date. Consequently, as on Boxing Day (December 26) the Cdn markets were closed, trades completed on Dec 24 with a 3 day settlement period were settled on Dec 31. Therefore trades on Dec 29, 30 and 31 will settle on Jan 2. 5, and 6 respectively.

Interesting for me to know that there are these kind of differences between the US and Canada in value dating for tax loss selling as it could effect my timing in the selling of my US Stock holdings in future years.

Thanks for the info.

Regards

Keith
