It is regretful that you don't see the relevance, there is plenty, but so be it.

There is much scripture that addresses the geneology of those who said they were Jews but were not. That is why our lord brought it to our attention. In many, many places.!

Paul also brought it to our attention:
Rom 9:6-7
6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:
7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.

These are just the tip of the iceberg. Scripture is replete with these teachings, old and new.

>>>"The point about word
studies I was making was that if not handled carefully a word study can be a source
of false teaching and we all should be careful with it">>>.

So can the Bible itself Bob, and is in many cases. But this should not preclude anyone from reading for them selves what God has said about all things...the same is true with understanding the original language in which the Bible was written... so I don't understand your point at all.
No need to explain it either or go any further with this issue. Debating or arguing the Holy Scriptures I leave to those who have need to be right.

Have a blessed New Year Bob
