<Does this then make the battle HIF vs TSA vs Pico-cap?>

Of course. There will always be challenges to face. I had heard about the Fujitsu method about a year ago when it was clear they were going to be a greater force in the enterprise niche. At the time, INVX said they supplied most of Fujitsu's programs except they had high end interconnects using a TSA like solution. He said at the time it cost about $3 to make.

In a year, manufacturing know how can improve costs dramatically, but in the end it becomes a serious question of cost vs improved performance. I find the fact that Seagate would use HIF in their Cheetha product very telling.

But, please let me know if you've heard more about whether Fujitsu has been supplying others, or even moved to Pico-cap for their entire product line. Do you have any word about cost? Do you believe them? Is it really better?

Regards,

Mark
