Happy New Year to all. I hope no one is too debilitated after a night of big partying. I am off to watch the Rose Bowl so my wolverines can finally be crowned national champions.

I would love to hear opinions on where we go from here in the tech sector. My holdings are up about 11% for 1997 after being up over 50% a few months ago. This was a truly depressing year in the market as the dow and s and p were both up over 20%. My Price science and tech fund for the year is flat so I can't really complain. I do have nasty losses in intcw, cpq, neta, sunw and a few others, so thankfully there were a few winners in there.

It would be great to hear some prognostications from the thread, as every one else is pretty much potty mouthed as far as 1998 is concerned.

Take care.

Hi Dennis, thanks for help and info on new ideas for the new year. I can't believe how time flies. I just told Sonki yesterday that I may buy something next year again and here it is next year already. So I guess I have to get moving. I don't know if I want to go into another Robot, had my share with US Robotics/Coms. But I will take a peek at others. gg.

I have been glancing around but can't decide on anything yet. I may try some more Merck. Paul told me that a Doctor from Merck danced most of the evening. This should be a good indicator that things are well with Merck. Would he feel like dancing otherwise?

Here is an interesting link. I will have to post it to John also. He would like to know about the Orcl CEO since he and I have it.

I think halftime is over. I guess I go and watch it again. Too bad Washington State did not win. My son-in-law and grandson would have been happy. But they did a good job.
