Could be, but it needs to be verified with a series of tests...

The 10 common signs of advanced vascular dementia are:

1. Memory Loss
2. Declining Motor function
3. Disorientation
4. Behavioral Changes
5. Paranoia
6. Disorganization
7. Agitation
8. Hallucinations
9. Sexual Actions
10. Cognitive Decline

BUT, no issues about coughing, so that may not be the diagnosis... she did have a serious blood clot, it may not have fully recovered, so she likely has some serious circulatory issues which could bring on some form of dementia, an alternative to Alzheimer's... frankly, I say she's just plain crazy...
