jim, I've been investing almost longer than you are old. I owned cpq before it was public and Cameron Iron Works before it rocketed in 70's. ROWAN AT 4 and on and on I paid my dues on investing too since I've been in Sr. management and consulting to CFO's since you were in high school. I actually have post on SI indicating that Orcl is haeding for crash and I posted them 12 months ago. It was one of these things that Burke and I agreed on. It was easy to see that MIS directors would select not to upgrade in 1997 and 6 months of 1998. Now where are all your post saying orcl would crash 12 months ago. And why orcl would crash..I posted that too over 12 months ago. you don't have any since you aren't in MIS and know zip about it and had no idea that MIS Vp's were not upgrading. or why we weren't upgrding..... care to tackle why we elected not to upgrade??? You get out of college, read a few books and you are some kind of expert ..." with no practical business experince under your belt" I get out of college and go to work at the very bottom in prodcution control of company where I could learn something. And, selected compnaies where I could work with the likes of Oliver Wight, Joe Orlicky, Walt Goddard, Tom Gunn, Crosby, and Hammer. Not to mention Rod Canion, Daryl White, Gribi, Eckhart Pfeifer and even sit down and chat with Gates and Job and Rosen... Job and I didn't get off very well since I remarked that his manufacturing systems at NEXT were terrible(they selected oracle's ERP right out of beta) ... Next system's were terrible but I wish I would have left it unsaid..the guy has a temper like no one's busniess. He gave me a T-shirt for his NEXT corp. I remarked that NEXT would never make it with the current strategy and that the T shirt would outlast the Corp....I still have the T-shirt but miss guessed with deep pockets anything can last in hobby mode<gggg> Did I forget to mention that I was hired by M. Dell but ended up taking another job. My issue with you continues to be your economic and technology posts are absolutely an "F" minus by any std of measure and reflect that in investing you wing it. In investing you can win for the worng reasons easily. you continue to spout off technology and economic junk THAT ABSOLUTELY IS NOT TRUE.....YOUR ASSESTMENT OF DELL is bogus.
