you must have misread my post... I was making the point that wind speed alone does not measure how powerful a storm is... the recent past has seen larger storms based on the size

I didn't belittle the damage, don't know where you got that idea, my most even referenced that Katrina and Sandy were #1 and #2 ranked with re to damage caused

And yes, Katrina was a CAT 2 at landfall. Sandy was technically not even a hurricane at landfall or at best a weak CAT 1... but the point was the SIZE of the storms, not the windspeed
