Just couldn't force yourself to take a day off, eh? Yeah, I know, the draw of the old squareheaded girlfriend....

A happy and prosperous 1998 to you!

Brad:

I've been a member for close to a year and would love to see one additional feature. That is, the ability to download an entire thread so it can be read off-line, at my leisure.

Actually, what I want is to download a portion of a thread as restricted by date (or post #'s), and to be able to download in one shot all the "New" posts in my collection of bookmarks.

As someone who has little free time and who does most of his reading in bed, this feature would be a big boon. It would also make it easy to catch up on some of the more active threads or when I choose to learn about some new stock.

As a side issue, I am usually on-line 9 to 11 pm est. This is rush hour time and going from post to post can cause a long delay. It would be great if you could start sending the "Next" post on a given thread down the pike while I am reading the current post, but before I clicked the "Next" highlight.

Hoping you an accommodate my request,

Bobb.

It looks to me as if ALL my incoming posts and messages stay in the Folder. (I haven't seen the answer on can we delete some.) The Folder is probably just a link list. Therefore, could it also have all my outgoing posts and messages? This would be handy for, if I don't print an outgoing message, and then forget what I said, I have to ask the recipient to send it back to me.

Sorry spots, I meant to respond to Brad and got the wrong post to do it to.

Brad,

I've been a member now for 6-8 months, and have learned much from SI. One thing I really don't understand is how can a high percentage move in a stock (like afci or awre in the last 2 days) occur without anyone knowing (or posting) why. They post guesses, but I would think someone would know. Someone is buying those millions of shares based on information. Do those people that are buying just know how to keep a secret?

Satch

PS You started this board and invited questions like this so thanks in advance.

Brad/Jeff, I have been one of many vocal people against the datek advertisement and now against the beta. the feel of a user-centered community has given way to being dictated to by a big business.

however

i would like to reflect on the fact that people, including me, are actually saying thanks for your original dream...thanks for letting us be a part of the old si...it meant a lot to us...exchanging ideas...being part of wall street from our various and sundry locations all over the globe...and being part of the decision making process and self governing feel of si...that our input in the direction of the site was important.

so if you hear us complaining, realize that in fact we are saying how much si means to us...that we want to be an active part of the process that is important to us.

i hope the positive side of the message comes through also.
