JIm, it's not only possible it's obvious. Y2k problems.
but, them buying pcs has nothing to do with it.
Absolutely zero..nothing...nada...

MIS isn't pc's. the pc is the cheapest purchase we make.
just the bracket to rack mount a server cost more than a pc and servers cost 200k plus easily.
and try buying an ERP system..that's 7 figures.
or an ELM system which just does the web planning.those are 250k a piece....SCI just bot 18 ELM's.
Phone systems, rf data collection, groupware, touchscreen data collection, the list goes on and on...MIS isn't pcs.
the pc is nothing in mis budgets.

to you mis is pc's...that's your youth again.

mfg'ers will have the least prob. with y2k. it will be other industries with most the problems here and it will be the off road
technology that gets hit most.
their phone system,,,still plenty of hi-tech phone systems with 386 chips, technology embedded inside of other automation.
even their time clocks for attendance and video type systems, etc. etc. etc.
the pc doesn't have anything to do with y2k.
