Jeff- It used to be the SETTLEMENT date and that got changed a few years ago to the TRADE date:

There was a OLD rule that stated it was the SETTLEMENT DATE for tax purposes.
Then that got to a point where is was EITHER date... depending... And then it was SO
COMPLICATED with people double reporting (in 2 years) ... or forgetting to report
trades at all - done in that last week of the year, that the Service CHANGED it to the
TRADE DATE.

MBA,did you ever hear of a news letter called the cheap investor?I have a sample copy from oct its been around for 16 years and is based close to my home it concentrates on under valued stocks ready to turn upward.There phone number is 1-847-697-5666 and they will send you a free issue and some additional info for free if you request it.The guy that runs it wrote the book called WINNING BIG with bargain stocks BILL MATHEWS,I will quote there beliefs "Our economic system is based on growth and we feel that a small,quality company whose stock is 1.00 has a far greater growth potential than an older established co. whose stock is safe while a CHEAP stock is speculative and unsafe.This isnt always true.growth potential is a key ingrediant for successful investing.Every large co. was small at one time.etc,etc maybe info on noram could be sent to be considered being listed in monthly newsletter ..Just a thought to help get us some more exposure THANX EZ
