I'm just a novice compared to some here but I have put together a number of systems myself. My experiences are very similar to yours.
Cyrix 6x86s really respond quickly...much faster than similar configured Pentiums. Added RAM makes more difference than a little more CPU speed and the money you save can buy a better video card.
I guess a computer is more the sum of it's components.
The CTX you got was an old one. Now they use Maxtor Diamondmax HDs and Matrox Mystique video cards.
I've been saying all along that Intel need not worry about AMD...
Watching Cyrix/NSM will be fun. Don't be surprised to see a 266 6x86 before a 266Mhz K6 either.
