Bill, Re -- That it why I conclude this was a net PC gradeoff, with local storage, being sold semi surplus. A true under $1 K system would have a modem and no ethernet card. It most likely is a netpc. However the point is that this price point can be achieved with a pentium. Its not clear, why a 1K system should have a modem and not an ethernet controller. It depends on the market being addressed. This is the reason Intel has decided on a segmented model of the pc market place. Stockman
