Story "reopened" for you?

Message 3049406

I suspect last week's runup was a result some expectation/leakage of presumably positive news by an institution or 2. DAIN seemed to be filling a larger buyer and Cowan was also active. There were ~30 trades over 5K (~10 trades over 10K, ~4 trades over 15K, and 3 trades over 20K). And surprisingly, there were still bigger orders coming in when the stock was up 3.

There was also a fair amount of activity by SOES market makers, so there were likely rumor(s) floating, though I wasn't in to hear what was being said.

One explanation COULD have been it was just some speculation about the long expected contracts near year's end, but I don't think institutions would buy unless they had some fresh reason. The tape will likely continue telling the story.

But what news might it be? Could GTE be getting set to announce soon? This would surprise me, even WITH the recent Texas decision.

Good luck-

Steve
