Where did you hear that the law affects private clubs? I live in the San Francisco Bay Area (yes- this law is a big issue here) and I just saw on the news that the law doesn't affect private clubs. They interviewed a private club owner and he expects business to pick up because of the new law.

The news also said that there's already a loop hole in the law. The law doesn't apply to owners runinng the bar. I guess that means it's ok as long as you don't have employees.

Take it for what it's worth. This is what I heard on the channel 2 news.

P.S. I think this law is stupid even though a can't stand the smell of smoke.
