<CompUSA Inc. said Wednesday that it posted a 22% increase in sales during its fiscal second quarter, with an 8.8% rise in sales at stores open at least a year.>

this is in-lined with the projection of 10% of US households will get their first PCs in the next six months. As almost all these PCs will be connecting to the Internet there'll be a need for all types of networking gear; access servers (ASND, COMS), more bandwidth (CSCO, ASND, FORE), additional switches (ASND, CSCO, FORE), more routers (CSCO), firewalls (Sec Dyn, Checkpoint) , servers (SUNW, MS).
One can say that internetworking mkt is at the starting point now and the networking stocks such as ASND, CSCO, FORE, COMS will greatly benefit from this explosive growth; this growth will come not only from PCs to Internet but also things such as e-commerce and VPNs.

RE: CompUSA's sale

The sale is up, but I wonder how much increase in profit they got.
A friend of mine bought a brand new HP Penitum 166MMX with the monitor, 2.0G HD, 16MB Memory, Sound Card, Speakes, 33.6K modem, CD-ROM, Win95 for $899 from ComUSA during xmas, plus he also got a free color ink-jet printer and a free VCR coming with that computer.
