To All:

My synopsis of the infamous sub $1,000 computer. People who don't currently have computers will buy them, many people. They will see the benefits of computers in their lives and they will soon want to upgrade to very good computers, e.g. Dell computers. The sub $1,000 will eventually be a good thing for Dell even if they never get in this market, although, I'm sure that soon some of their computers will sell for less than $1,000. If you step back and think about it, this makes sense.

Take it for what you will. I am definitely an amateur when it comes to investing, but I've gotten my butt kicked enough in the market and read plenty of books to merit some respect for my opinions.

Long baby, Long! Can't wait for next week as I'm sure Dell will benefit from the January effect!

Matt

Meathead,

One thing I CAN accurately predict...

*IF* DELL maintains its sales, revenue, and earnings growth of last year through next year, the Mavens, Bears, DoomSayers, and Chicken Littles will be saying, "A company that large cannot increase sales, revenue, etc at that rate". Further, they will predict a slowdown in the earnings growth rate. <g>
