"Remember me for this, O my God, and do not blot out my loyal deeds which I have performed for the house of my God and its services."
Nehemiah 13:14

I. Remember me for this, O my God
Nehemiah had done many good things, many indeed. He was instrumental in getting Israel back on track. He wanted God to look at his "track-record" of all he had done for good.
Comment- Could it be because he knew all to well what another man of God voiced: "All of our righteousnesses are as filthy rags..."
Are we not like Nehemiah- We want God to remember the "good stuff" and forgive the bad?

II. Do not blot out my loyal deeds which I have performed for the house of God and its services
-Blotting out is good word picture. Our sins are blotted out. Look at the "loyal deeds" of your parents, grand-parents, great grand parents, great great gramdparents.
They built pews, pulpits, honed out wood to build a church, paid their tithes, offerings---many good and loyal deeds were done. They prayed for their kids, they fed and clothed those kids. They payed their taxes. They went to war for their country against the enemies of the land.
Comment: Ah, grace is sensational, but what about the loyal deeds.
Do you think Nehemiah is in line for a few crowns and rewards as well?
