ed--- I have been trading INTC. Sold my core at 95 and 78. I have also been trading TPRO rather steadily. I plan on trading my last purchase of ORCL in the 26 range then playing the dips and runs. I like AMAT and thanks for the tip on BA also. I have found HWP at 58 is usually good to go at 65 within a short time. I am angry at ORCL for catching me off guard--- angry at myself, not ORCL. I thought they would easily make earnings last qtr. Was not paying attention to the insider sales--- really screwed up on that one. I will bail the high 2/3 after the 9th and wait the next 30 days to start trading it again. I like the way you think--- I agree a 3 - 10% gain compounded by trading often makes for a hell of an annual rate.At this time the only issue held as a solid core is CPQ.

if you own orcl then sell covered calls til necxt report.
on report date you can sell calls that month but have upstrike calls so you don't lose out if the report is good.
another strategy for the eanrings month is sell the stk on a run up to the earnings date, but buy the calls now on where you think it will be,
something cheap.
another strategy is sell stk now and buy calls.
alos, don't forget cheap puts.
