What is a "heroes" approach to War? The Charge of the Light Brigade, Trench Warfare of WW 1...get out of those trenches, cross no man's land, charge those machine guns, drop 2 million tons of bombs on Laos, cluster bomb southern Lebanon, destroy the village to save it?

What a dumb ass you are...another example of a deplorable.

"No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. You won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country."

- Patton

Of course there is more to it then that. War isn't just about being good at killing people and breaking things, its to achieve certain ends. But when you have to kill people and break things to achieve the end its best to do so to the greatest extent possible in ways that don't get you killed or broken. Its not a duel of honor.
