Notes on NTN:

1) I was out at a bar a few days ago and no one was playing the current game (we switched to darts when our left brains shut down ;-). In any case, with a total bar score of 0, we came in around 3260 in the nation. This is the highest number of sites I've seen since Nov. of last year, and about 300 more than recent history. Unless there are some software errors somewhere, this would indicate at least a 10% net growth in US sites for the last Q. (From my un-scientific experiments.)

2) P+ database seems to have had some problems as of 14 November. I just checked it and it looks up-to-date again.

Both of these points are positives for 1998.

Rich,

You're right about today likely being quiet for the market.

Also that NTN had a few heavy trading days this week.

It was however about the only depressed stock I saw (I follow lots of those, this time of year) that showed absolutely no bounce and actually closed at its low.

$1 has held so far and with tax loss selling over it should hold for the short term, at least.

If it doesn't hold it would be absolutely the worst sign possible.

Being a Gov't. employee you probably received a surprise paid day off today, didn't you? My wife had to work-planes still flying even if no particles are being accelerated. Although I guess you scientist types really have no idea what those janitors are up to when you're not there. :^)
